How to Prepare Your Caravan for Sale

Clear information and an honest description make it easier for a caravan dealer to assess your caravan before arranging an inspection.

Confirm the caravan details

Check the exact make, model, year and berth before completing the valuation form. If you know the layout name or special edition, include that too.

  • Make, range and model
  • Year and berth
  • General condition
  • Motor mover and useful fitted accessories
  • Known damage, faults or water ingress

Take clear photographs

Photographs should show the whole caravan rather than hiding areas of concern. Daylight and a clean lens are more useful than heavy editing.

  • Front, rear and both exterior sides
  • Lounge, kitchen, washroom and sleeping areas
  • Upholstery, worktops and flooring
  • Any damage or areas that need attention

Give an accurate condition description

Mention visible damage, appliance issues and any known damp or water ingress. A valuation remains subject to inspection, so accurate information reduces the chance of avoidable surprises later in the process.

Make the caravan accessible

Before an arranged inspection, remove unnecessary personal belongings and make sure the relevant areas can be viewed. Ask the dealership in advance if there is anything specific it needs for the appointment.
